July 2015 Wrap Up

Shelly's Wrap Up:

To say that I had a better reading month in July than June would be a massive understatement.  Last month I only managed to get through 4 books, but this month I tackled a whopping 17.  Here is a quick look at what I read this month, in reading order.

Not a bad month at all...especially since it's probably the last month I will be able to read like this in a quite awhile since I start back to school in a few weeks.

Victoria's Wrap Up:

Since I don't have anything but time on my hands during the summer, I tend to read a bit more ;) Here are my 25 wrap-up books for July in order!

I know that this month was steller, but as Shelly said, I highly doubt August will be as productive. I sure can wish though ;)

How was your month of reading?

Have a great one!

XOXO, Shelly & Victoria ♥

Just a Quick Check In!

I just wanted to drop in really quick and let you all know that I don't have a review for today, but I have been reading a really good series that I wanted to share with you!

I just recently got this ARC from the publisher and I still hadn't read the first 3 books, but I LOVE Ms. Armentrout's other books so I knew that I would blow through these once I got started on them.  I was right!  I read all 3 books in just a couple of days and they are SOOO good!  I am not going to do a review for each of them here on the blog though.  I am just going to do a quick review on my Goodreads then I will link to those when I review the 4th book here on the blog.  If you want to read those sooner then just hit me up on Goodreads, I love making new friends on there.

So here are the books I am talking about, they are very reasonably priced for Kindle.  I HIGHLY recommend them if you like YA Paranormal.

So if you are looking for a good series, run out and get this one!

Happy Reading!

It's Monday! What are you Reading? #8

This is a meme hosted by Book Journey, but I found it here on Book-a-holic.

Last week just flew by for me and honestly, I didn't get much reading done!  I finished Onyx and I have started 2 books and if I am lucky I will get them both finished this week.

Former beauty queen and gorgeous blonde Mandy and her life-battered friend, Diane, want nothing more than to reach the heights of success in show business. Their journey to self-discovery and stardom during the turbulent 1960s and 1970s takes them from New York City to Las Vegas and Hollywood. During an era when unrest and free love take precedence, Mandy's small town upbringing has left her inexperienced, and she soon discovers that being a winner is not all it's cracked up to be.
Once a movie starlet, nothing has gone right for forty-year-old Diane in years. A graduate of the School of Hard Knocks, her dreams have all but vanished as she looks for love in all the wrong places. Mandy is determined to become a star and begins auditioning for roles. She meets Diane, and together they soon realize that the path to stardom is lined with unscrupulous agents who want to take advantage of their beauty and na vet.
As these two blondes continue their journey to discovering who they really are deep inside, only time will tell which one will persevere through the challenges and realize that if she can survive her past, she can make it anywhere.

Following the sudden disappearance of treasure hunter Ben Sanders in Mexico, beautiful archaeologist Suzy da Silva is snatched from the cloistered environs of Oxford University and thrust into a deadly maelstrom of intrigue and discovery.
Joining forces with astrophysicist Tom Brooking she crosses four continents, to unlock the dark secrets of Tutankhamun's tomb, the Holy Sepulchre and the mysterious Mayan Temple of Inscriptions to reveal a mysterious truth.
Together they risk their lives, pursued by martial assassins and renegade special forces, fighting the forces of evil to discover hidden knowledge so precious that it has lain dormant for over a thousand years...

I really don't know what I am going to read after these.  I have a huge stack of TBR books, I actually have another book started so I will probably read that one.  I also need to read Cinder before the end of the month, but I just ordered it last week so it should be here today or tomorrow.  That may be my next one.  I am pretty confident that I will adjust to my new schedule this week and once I do I can get back into my normal reading rhythm once again.

Cut off from the outside world by a hostile desert full of savage secrets, the city of Illamar must fend for itself. Late one night, Dante Montero, Commander and Ruler of Illamar, is confronted on his own streets by a mysterious woman bearing an ominous message from a dangerous man known only as Rasheim.

The closer they get to the truth, the more their worlds begin to fall apart. Both men will have to rely heavily on their friendship as they struggle to comprehend the events happening around them, their past, and even the truth about themselves.

They must move quickly and choose wisely, for time is running out as Dante and Kerran discover a secret plot is already underway to destroy their city and kill every last person alive. It seems the answers they so desperately need can only be found in a sequence of dreams, but in a world where nothing is as it seems, even their dreams could turn out to be deadly.

It's Monday! What are you Reading?

This is a meme hosted by Book Journey, but I found it here on Book-a-holic.

Currently Reading

I am currently reading two books, which I hardly ever do, but one is on my Kindle and the other is a print book.  So here they are

One by one, Laura Armstrong’s friends and adoptive family members are being murdered, and despite her unique healing powers, she can do nothing to stop it. The savage killer haunts her dreams, tormenting her with the promise that she is next.
Determined to find the killer, she follows her visions to the site of a crashed meteorite–her hometown. There, she meets Ben Fieldstone, who seeks answers about his parents’ death the night the meteorite struck. In a race to stop a mad man, they unravel a frightening secret that binds them together. But the killer’s desire to destroy Laura face-to-face leads to a showdown that puts Laura and Ben’s emotional relationship and Laura’s pure spirit to the test. With the killer closing in, Laura discovers her destiny is linked to his and she has two choices–redeem him or kill him.

In Toe the Line, small business owner and triathlete, Wynn Johnston, finds his ordered, predictable life thrown into turmoil when his training and business partner, Wheeler, is murdered in the seemingly safe confines of the Seattle airport. As Wynn begins to dig into Wheeler’s past he finds out that his best friend was involved in a racing conspiracy that puts Wynn’s business and his life in danger.
Wheeler’s murder forces Wynn to confront deceptive fellow racers, the potential bankruptcy of his business, and past loves he thought long dead, all while avoiding the murderer who is hunting him across Seattle. Filled with deep and engaging characters, scenic descriptions of the Pacific Northwest, and a female main character who is the impetus behind the action, this novel provides both male and female readers with an intriguing, well-rounded, fast-paced mystery and a glimpse into the world of triathlon racing.

Joining forces, Kit and Grif's search for answers leads beyond the blinding lights of the Strip into the dark heart of an evil conspiracy. But a ruthless killer determined to destroy them isn't Grif's biggest threat. His growing attraction to Kit could cost them both their lives, along with the answer to the haunting question of his long afterlife . . .
This one is subject to change if I get a couple of the "for review" books that I have been expecting in the mail this week.  I also have a couple of books for upcoming book tours that I need to read as well.

Stacking the Shelves #2

I got some great books this week so I am going to go ahead and share them since I am so excited!  You may have noticed that I have changed from "In My Mailbox" to "Stacking the Shelves".  It was just a personal decision to change it, it's essentially the same thing.

So here is a shot I took of the print books I got this week.  Not all of these are for review so I will break them down for you.

This is my first ever Goodreads Giveaway win!  It's also a signed copy!

This one I received for review from the author Taylor Dean.

These three I just bought from Amazon.  I have read Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter but I just wanted it on my shelf!  I have read great things about The Taken and that cover just looks very nice.  The other one was bought on a whim when I was looking so I hope it's good!

I got one Kindle book for review this week.  I will have a post about this one as part of a blog tour coming up in a bit.

Here are the books I got for my Kindle this week, they are not specifically for review, but I am sure you will see my reviews for them when I get a chance to read them!

So what books did you get this week?  Did you get any of the same ones I did?  What are you most excited to read?
