Hey! I just wanted to hop on here really quickly and let everyone know that I will be taking an extended hiatus from this blog. I started student teaching in August, I am still working part time and I have very little time to read outside of what I am doing for school. I am student teaching in a high school English class where nearly all the hours I am teaching are writing classes....with writing classes comes lots and LOTS of grading! Right now I have a stack of papers that is literally over 6 inches high that needs to be graded this weekend.
I will be back in a couple months....hopefully! I will graduate in December, but I am not sure how much time I will have to read once I start teaching. We'll just have to see how it goes. I just know that I will not continue to accept books for review at this time, because I just don't have the extra time to read.
Thank you to each and every one of you who has continued to read my reviews over the years. Thank you to the authors who have sent me your books to review. I continue to buy books even though I don't have time to read them...I keep telling myself that one day I will have all the time in the world, but that won't be happening any time soon I'm afraid.
XOXO,
Shelly

Exciting News and Update!
So, you may notice that things have been changing here on the blog. I have some exciting news...at least it is for me! I am adding another reviewer here on the blog so I have changed the name back to {Dive} Under the Cover. I did keep the domain name so it was an easy thing to just switch it back here on blogger. I felt it was only fair to my new partner to make is less about me (and my bookshelves!) and more about the team. Plus, I have always loved the original name of the blog!
I have been working on upgrading the template and all that fun stuff so hopefully if wasn't too annoying if you stopped by some time today. I tested out several that I just didn't think would work before I settled on this one. I do like the colors and that pattern suits the blog. Sometimes a change is nice!
Now, let me tell you a little about my new blog partner. Her name is Victoria, as you can probably already tell by looking at the new header! She and I met in school this last semester and not only do we have books in common, but we are both Secondary English Education majors. One huge plus is that she is also a local girl! In addition to being a college student she is also a wife and mother (although she is MUCH younger than me!) and she just happens to work for Scholastic. I think this is the beginning of a great partnership.
As you know, I have been a blog slacker since I started school, but that's something I intend to change. Between the 2 of us we should have regular reviews and content here for you nearly every day. I am going to bring back my book haul posts (because you know I haven't stopped buying books!) and I want to start doing some more spotlight posts and things like that.
In the meantime I will be updating the reviews index and we will get Victoria's "about me" added in as well as her review policy and contact information. If there is anything else you would like to see featured here don't hesitate to email one of us any time.
XOXO,
Shelly

Another update...Truth time!
Ok, it's hitting me now that this school thing is just way more than I expected! I am loving it, but what it means is that my personal reading time has taken a HUGE hit. It's been several weeks since I have had time to finish a review book. So....for now I am will be slowly working through the stack of review books that I have and I have one tour for Colleen Hoover's Confess coming sometime in March that I will be posting. Beyond that I will only be accepting a very limited number of books for review. This will mostly be reserved for series that I have been reviewing and for authors that I always work with. I hate that I don't have more time, but it's just the way things work out sometimes.
So, I have about 10 books to review and those will be short, but thorough reviews. I am not going to commit to a certain number per week, month, etc... since time isn't permitting me to read as quickly as I'd like. After that I will just have to see how it goes and hopefully I will have more time in the summer, but next school semester is shaping up to be harder than the current one so it looks like this is going to be how things go at least for the next year.
Actually, what I'd really like to do is be a guest blogger on another book blog since I don't really have enough content to keep this one going.... That's something I need to look into when I have an chance. If any of you have any suggestions on that front leave me a comment!
Thanks for listening and I hope you all understand.

Shelly

Quick Update!
I hope that everyone is having a great start to the New Year! I wanted to pop on here really quick and let you know what's going on with me and the blog.
I have been pretty absent lately and I want to remedy that, but it's going to be a slow process more than likely. I have read a TON of books in the past couple months, but there is no way that I am going to attempt to review them all. I am going to continue to review the books that I receive from authors and publishers and then I am going to try to add in some of my own picks here and there. I am going to continue to post the cover reveals and things like that when I have them.
Right now, I have no tours scheduled and I only have a handful of review copies on my TBR pile. However, I did just start my spring semester at school and I have a HUGE pile of books to read for the 3 Lit based classes that I am taking. I am taking a YA Lit class and we will be reading at least 14 books this semester so I will most likely be reviewing most of those since they are all relevant to my style and most of them are currently being talked about in the book community.
My goal at present is to start posting 2 reviews per week, that's all I can commit to because of my heavy homework schedule. There will be weeks when I can do more, and I will when I can. I also can tell you that I just got the 2nd book in the new Maya Banks Slow Burn trilogy and as soon as I read that I will be having a giveaway for a print copy of that so stay tuned!
Thanks to all of you who have been hanging in there with me and continue to read my reviews!!

Quick Update
I thought I would pop on here and do a quick update for you. For those of you who may not know, I am back in College. I have decided to finally finish my degree at long last! I have about 2 years left maybe a little longer. I am an Education Major, I am thinking that I will end up teaching Communication Arts (English) in Middle or High School even though I enrolled as an elementary ed major.
What this means is that I won't be posting here regularly, although honestly, I haven't been doing that for a couple months anyway. I have a handful of review books that I will be posting reviews and blog tours for, but other than that I won't be around much this semester. I am taking a Children's Lit class that is Writing Intensive and has a LONG list of required reading so I won't have much time for extra reading.
I will be posting at least one review a week at least for the next couple weeks and I will try to do that anyway even if it's a review on one of the books I have read for class. I just read Wonder and it was fantastic so I plan to do a review on that one for sure.
I hope that you are all doing well!!
