Summary:
She was off limits,
But he couldn't resist.

There are just some guys you don't touch--even someone as innocent and inexperienced as Ella Shaw knows that. But when her brother's best friend is up for grabs and willing, she can't resist. After all, she's wanted him for years...

On leave from the army, Tyler Dare is just looking for a little fun, but his best friend's sister is off limits. Yet unable to deny how sexy and alluring she is, he finds it all too easy to succumb to a night of passion and heat that ends the next morning in the worst way possible.

Now, Ella is stranded on a tropical island with a hurricane bearing down, and only Tyler can save her. It's his chance to make amends for the past and show the woman he's never forgotten that he's coming after her . . . in more ways than one.
My thoughts...
I read this book and didn't realize it was part of a series until I went to Goodreads to update that I finished it!  So it can obviously be read as a stand alone, but I feel like I would have connected even more with the characters had I read all the other books in the series.  There are a lot of other characters in the story that were main characters in the previous books.  Tyler is part of a large family and they play a decent role in this book and each of his siblings have their own books.  I gave the book a 3 star rating on Goodreads, but that's a full 3.5 for sure....I really wish they gave 1/2 star options on there.  I just didn't feel up to giving it a full 4 stars.  This is a pretty short book, I read it in a couple of hours throughout the course of a day when I had free time between classes at school.

I feel like the summary is a bit misleading.  Ella is on a tropical island and there is the threat of a hurricane, but this is all just the set up for the story and is literally only
the first few chapters.  The rest of the entire book takes place when they get back home.

Ella is a very insecure woman, but all of this stems from the one drunken night she spent with Tyler 9 years ago.  This one night has affected every relationship that she's had since then and try as she may she can't seem to get Tyler Dare out of her head.  It doesn't help that he's her best friends brother.  The only thing that's kept her sane all these years is that he's been in the military.

Tyler is no longer in the military, but he still knows that Ella is off limits even though he can't seem to leave her or that night in the past.  When his sister calls on him for help he knows he should say no, but he just can't seem to trust Ella's safety to anyone else.  I really likes Tyler's character more so than Ella's.  He was definitely more mature and who doesn't like a rich, hot, ex-military man?!!

I enjoyed this story and the Dare family enough that in time I will probably try to pick up the rest of the series.  She did a great job with character development, but I have a feeling if I had read all the books it would have been even better since she started this during the first book of the series I'm sure.  If you like series like Kristen Proby's With Me in Seattle series, you will probably like this one.  It's not quite as good, but definitely has potential.

XOXO,
Shelly
