Synopsis from Goodreads:

TAHOE ROTH.
Irreverent, cocky, playful and naughty.
He’s not the guy you date.
He’s the one night stand.
The one your mother warned you about.
The one your body craves.

You’d think the man who called me succulent would want to strip me down and spread me out on his bed—like he’s done with countless others.
But he passed on my offer….
Just like I’d once passed on his.
He’s wary, like I am.
He’s broken, like I am.
And everyone knows two broken parts can’t ever make a whole.
Tahoe and I are strictly friends.
So I distract myself with other men.
He doesn’t think my new man is good enough. This blond blue-eyed beast doesn’t think any man is—himself included.
But the more time we spend together, the more confused I feel.
I'm trying to open myself to love.
Yet I'm quickly realizing that the only man I want is Tahoe Roth.
The one man who will surely break my heart.
My Thoughts...
I guess that I didn't realize that Katy Evans was going to spin off of the Manwhore Series, but I am SO glad she did.  I really enjoyed this story.  I wasn't a huge Gina fan in Saint and Rachel's books.  I felt like she was way too wrapped up in a man that didn't love or appreciate her.  She spent so much time pining after a man who wasn't worthy of her time.  You know who is worthy of her time?  Tahoe Roth!

It's entirely possible that I like Tahoe more than Saint.  He's definitely a more likable character from the beginning, even if he's a player just like Saint was in the beginning.  He's another rich playboy that all the women want and he's not one to deny them.  Most of them, that is.  He has this idea in his head that Gina is too good for him so he's keeping her at arms length.  Meanwhile Gina gets tired of waiting and decides to date someone else.  There is no denying the chemistry between them though.  Being just friends is much harder than either of them anticipated.

For the bulk of the story they remain friends, but there comes a point where there is no denying what is going on between them.  I think that Katy Evans does a great job with the build up of their relationship.  It's definitely not the "insta love" so many novels have these days.  I think they both feel that very early on, but they don't act on it like couples in most books do.

There are some cameos made by Saint and Rachel and we meet Tahoe's little sister who, I believe, will be the lead in the next book.  This book takes place over the course of a year so a lot happens.  If you liked the original series you will want to pick this book up for sure, but if you haven't read that one you won't be lost since this can be read as a standalone.

XOXO, Shelly
