“I will do anything to make her MINE.” —Remington Tate
In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington “Remy” Tate as vital as the air he breathes . . . and now he can’t live without her.
Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman’s dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, Brooke is torn away from the ringside. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.
MY REVIEW
This is the second book of this series. I loved the first one, I liked this one, but not quite as much as the first one. I think there is just something about meeting the characters for the first time that makes the first book in a series better than the rest. This happens a lot for me with these series where all the book are centered around the same characters.
I just love Remy, I love him blue and I love him black. I do admit that the different eye colors does throw me, but then again I don't know a whole lot about being bi-polar. I pretty much love everything about Remy, but I don't love the scenting and licking...I don't get that...AT all. I don't find that sexy and unless you are a shifter or a vampire it's just weird. I know that she compares him to a lion, but licking just grosses me out!
As far as the story goes, their story does progress, but at the same time a lot of it seemed to be a repeat of the first book. Lots of crowds screaming for Remy, Brooke getting jealous, etc.... Scorpion is back and causing trouble for Remy and Brooke. The basic plot is the same though, they think Nora is in trouble and they end up having to save her. It's really too hard to say much more without posting spoilers so I don't want to talk about the plot anymore than that. Suffice it to say, Remy and Brook have their share of hard times in this book.
I don't have a whole lot to say about the book, it's not one of those books that I think needs a really deep insightful review. I gave Real 4 stars on Goodreads and I think this one was more of a 3-3.5 star. I want to say that if the plot had seemed like it was completely different or not so similar to the first one I would have rated it higher. There was a lot of repeated lines, repeated themes, etc...in this one. If you LOVED Real then you will probably love this one just as much. I think for me I love Remy more than I loved the continuation of the story and I have to say that I didn't like Brooke as much in this book and I think was a deciding factor on how I felt about the book overall.
This is a New Adult book, so there are some very descriptive love scenes as well as quite a bit of profanity. Definitely for the 18 and over crowd!
