My Thoughts...

SO you probably wonder why I didn't post the synopsis of the book here, well, I will tell you why.  I am doing a Giveaway hop right now that requires my post content to be family friendly and I think in the case of this book it's best to just point you in the direction of the synopsis rather than posting it here!   I plan to make this review completely spoiler free so it's going to be pretty short.  The reason I am doing this is because I was given the opportunity to give away a copy of the first book and I want you to be able to read that one with out it being spoiled.  It's going to be SO hard to do too!

So, basically, without giving anything away this is the continuation of Cassie's story with the addition of a new character, Dauphine.  Dauphine, for me, isn't quite as likable as Cassie was in book one.  For me, this book didn't have as much plot as the first one.  I mean, there is a plot, but it's not quiet as good as the first book.  In the first book Cassie is on a journey to define herself as a single woman.  There is a whole process that she goes through with S.E.C.R.E.T. and it's very intense for her as she takes each step.  She learns about herself and uncovers the real Cassie as she moves thorough the program.  I wasn't as taken with Dauphine as a character.  She was a little odd, and just generally not as likable, for me.  She moved too quickly through the program and she didn't seem to really "discover" herself like Cassie did.  To me, it just seemed like her scenarios were more about the sex than anything deeper.

Now, I was not a huge fan of the ending.  I felt like it was way too rushed.  It wasn't very satisfying for me.  I also felt like a lot of the things that Cassie learned in the first book she threw away in this one.  I know that makes no sense, but if you read the books you will understand.

I did enjoy these books, the first one more than the second one.  I thought that overall, she did a great job with cast of characters.  I loved that this whole idea is based on women taking control of their lives and their sexuality. I am certain this is a trilogy so I know that I will pick up book 3 so I can find out what ends up happening with Cassie. These books are classified as adult romance/erotica so be aware that there are very detailed love scenes in both of these books.  They are pretty steamy novels to be sure!

I have been given the opportunity to give away a paperback copy of S.E.C.R.E.T. so here you go!
