Synopsis from Goodreads:

Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges...

Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her.

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity...

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity.
My Thoughts...
Holy HOT wow!  I just love this whole Night Huntress series, but if you are a regular reader then you know that Vlad is my favorite character and has been since he was just a minor character way back in the beginning.  That said, I didn't like him quite as much in this book, he just doesn't quite seem to be himself in this one.  Most of it was the way he treated Leila through most of the book.  I felt like he was almost a minor character in this installment.  I realize that this is Leila's story and it's told from her POV, but I felt like Vlad was missing from a lot of this story and when he was there he just really wasn't very nice to Leila.

The heat from the first book was missing with this one for most of the book and then things start to happen really quickly.  There are things that happen in this book that seen very rushed, a lot of really important things happen and  then the book is over!  I am looking forward to the last book in this trilogy, I can't wait to see how things turn out for Vlad and Leila.

There are a couple of steamy love scenes in this book, but to be honest I was a little disappointed considering some of Ms. Frost's other work.  They were just okay.  I was pleased to see Mencheres and even Cat make an appearance in this one.  The absence of Bones was a little disappointing though.

If you liked the first book in this series you are sure to like this one.  Also, you don't need to have read any of the other Night Huntress books to enjoy this part of the series.
