Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga at Tynga's Reviews, that features books I've received and/or purchased during the current week or in this case weeks!
It's been a little over 3 weeks since I have posted one of these so it's time to show you what I have gotten in that time. It's been a slow couple of weeks for review books but that's okay because it's given me a lot of time to work on getting caught up with some of the ones I already have!
So, I pre-ordered 3 of these from Amazon and then one is an older book that I still haven't read so I wanted to pick it up as well. This is a Limited Edition hardcover of Beautiful Disaster that is signed by Jamie McGuire and I was very surprised to see that my Lullaby is also a signed copy!! I love Amanda Hocking and I have been following her pretty closely since Heather and I stumbled upon her My Blood Approves series back when we first got our kindles. I have yet to read this series but I now have the first 2 books so I will have to start it soon!
- Shadow's Claim by Kresley Cole
- Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
- Lullaby by Amanda Hocking
- Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
I got these 3 for $5.00 at my local used bookstore. I have been wanting to read something by Robin Cook for awhile and this one looked promising. I recently picked up the 2nd in this Templar series without realizing that it wasn't the first in the series so I had to get this one when I saw it!
And here are the books I have received for review
The Big Exit is for a blog tour and Goodnight, Brian is an ARC I received from Steven Manchester to read and review for the release date on January 8th. I love Steven's writing and I am looking forward to reading this new book.
I haven't picked up anything new for my Kindle in awhile. I have been getting so many hard copies that I don't read on it as much anymore. I do want to pick up one of Jennifer L. Armentrout's series to get ready to receive an ARC of the 4th book in the series so I guess I should get those soon.
I have a handful of books read that I need to write up reviews for so be on the lookout for these reviews in the next week or so
- The Dead Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan
- Jaidee: Out of the Ashes by Clint Morey
- Jordan's Return by Samantha Chase
- Coming Home (Jackson Falls #1) by Laurie Breton
- The Middle Aisle by Taylor Dean
Happy Reading!
Cool! I've wanted to read Beautiful Creatures for a while, especially with the movie coming out. I think I may pick it up after Christmas. I read Forest of Hands and Teeth when it first came out, then sort of forgot that it had sequels that came out, so I'm curious to see your review of the second book to decide if it's worth reading it (and possibly re-read the first book). That's one thing I hate with series, you read 1 and then have to wait like a year for a new one to come out - and I forget a lot of what's going on in the book!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Disaster was one of my favorite books this year. I hope you enjoy your haul.
